  Biography

A prolific artist, Elisheva Copin draws her inspiration from human nature and day-to-day life.

Born in Egypt, she moved with her parents to Israel at the age of five. Like many gifted and curious-minded adolescents, she studied at the university in Jerusalem..

After a diplomatic career which allowed her to travel to many different embassies in Europe such as Geneva, Vienna, Oslo, and London, she settled in France. After her marriage in 1978, her artistic vocation developed very rapidly.

Elisheva Copin acquired certain skills and refined the techniques necessary for her art by immersing herself in the different ateliers in the region of Paris.
Her numerous works reflect, in fact, her own personality: strong, discreet, gentle and sensitive.

Her Mediterranean heritage is omnipresent in her creativity, but the human form that she favors has a resurgence of the antiquities with a fullness of body that she treats with delicacy, accuracy and a sculpturely quality.

The bronze sculpture comes together with the nuances of the patina, which allows light to take possession of the work..

This sculptor shares with us the harmonies and the resonance of her spirit, which she possesses and recreates through her talent.
It is a true pleasure to contemplate her work, made with grace, finesse, style and precision.

The perfect proportions of the statues represent an authenticity, which has remained characteristic of her work throughout the years.

A large majority of her sculptures have traveled and been displayed all over the world.

Many collectors own her works which have always been exhibited alongside other important artists such as Dali, Arman, Chagall, and Miro.

There are several priorities for the artist: her vision, her life, her sensibility and her sensuality expressed through her art.

It seems today, with scientific studies showing us the marvels of the universe, art must express - in a rigorous and fatal renaissance - a new and positive idealism.

Elisheva Copin realises her work by projecting an emotional state which reveals the perfection of the figure.

The positions of the figures, different each time, are proof to this.
And the symbolism, which is evident, is impressed upon those who may prefer realism, for this expressive component cannot be ignored, and is accentuated by the artist's passionate temperament..

Throughout time, and in every civilization, sculpture has existed. But rare are the artists who remain so true to the form.

This sculptor has surpassed anonymity. Her works are sublimated and illustrate a necessary quest to fill a void.

Sculpture is primarily an instinctive art, where the hand's work is of utmost importance, but not without the aesthetic vision which includes the meticulous consideration of the patinas on the sculpture.

The polishing of the metal's surface represents her talisman. The unpolished sculpture imitates the texture of skin.

The diversity of the volumes shows us that we are with an artist who has achieved great reputation, without neglecting the techniques necessary for her art.

This sculptor holds, in fact, the humility and the detachment of the great artists, and is an exceptional creator.

This artist has participated in numerous exhibitions where she has always been highly distinguished.
